New and Improved University Gymnasium

The new and improved university gymnasium opened this fall. It is a privilege to have access to such a great gym at such a fair price. You get a lot of bang for your buck, that's for sure. The fitness suite got 11 brand-new machines and has renovated their stretching area and yoga room. For those who don't know where it is, the gymnasium is on campus between the University Centre and Árnagarður.

Sauna

The sauna in the gymnasium is rather spacious. There is also a mighty fine relaxation room with recliner benches - perfect for meditation.

Accessibility

Unfortunately, the gymnasium is not fully accessible. Actually, only one room on the first floor is accessible, and there is no elevator in the building. It could also prove difficult to get through the new entrance in a wheelchair.

Price

A one-year pass for the gymnasium costs 10,000 kr. Cards are sold at the Service Desk in the University Centre. They grant access to the fitness suite, sauna, and all advertised open classes. Groups may also rent the sports hall for a modest fee.

Monday-Friday: 7:00 am - 10:00 pm

Saturday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Sunday: Closed
